General Hospital and Area
Many overlook the General Hospital area in Guelph, but it is a gem. As the name implies, Guelph’s only hospital is at the centre of this area. This could be a turn off for some, but in a City of Guelph’s size it’s likely you’ll hear a siren no matter where you are.
Within a few kilometers north of downtown, this area has easy access to most amenities including shopping, restaurants in Guelph, pubs in Guelph and walking trails. It’s also just over the bridge from the Sleeman Centre and River Run Centre.
There are a mix of homes here, but west of the hospital to the river are a number of highly desirable detached century homes. These homes are well kept and can be a mix of both owner occupied and multi-unit residential rentals.
Good examples can be found on Havelock, Derry and Pearl.
To the north, east and west you’ll find many post war bungalows. Much like Riverside Park, buyers are quick to snatch up the versatile post war bungalows which are suitable for downsizers, first time buyers and even investors who turn the basement into an accessory apartment.
