Where the City all started, the downtown core has some of Guelph’s oldest and historic buildings! Everything from the famous Albion hotel, to the often photographed Basilica of our Lady to Guelph pubs, downtown Guelph restaurants, coffee shops and more.
The other major draws to the downtown area include the Guelph Youth Music Centre, Sleeman Centre and River Run Centre.
Because homes here are often 100+ years and there is no additional room to build, there is a limited supply. As a result, prices in the downtown core are often sheltered from large price fluctuations.
Homes in the area are mainly century homes on mature streets, but in recent years you can also find a large number of condos, mainly in the Metalworks buildings.
