Guelph real estate: St. George’s Park
Another of Guelph’s storied older neighbourhoods is St Georges Park. Considered by many to be one of the “the most upper crust neighbourhoods in Guelph”, this Guelph neighbourhood features some of the most stately homes perched on the top of the hill in Guelph with wonderful views of downtown.
If you’re moving here from out of town, it’s highly likely that this area is on your list along with Exhibition Park and Downtown Guelph. The challenge- finding homes for sale in St Georges Park.
Where is St George’s Park?
That being said, this area covers an extremely large geographic area and captures many eras of home developments. Starting downtown at the river, it runs in a pie shape with boundaries of Eramosa Rd, Victoria Rd and Elizabeth St. It is adjacent to the trendy Ward neighbourhood next door
Types of homes in St Georges Park
Closest to the downtown core are some magnificent streets of detached homes, including many century homes (a good example is Ardmay Cres). Further east you’ll find many tree lined streets full of post war detached bungalows (a good example is Callander Dr). Prices range from north of $1 million closer to St Georges Park to the $700K mark further east.
Amenities
There is ample shopping here (including gourmet grocer Angelino’s) and many amenities in the area. The park itself is a sprawling park with new playgrounds, tennis courts and picnic areas.
As you move further away from downtown, you’ll encounter many post war bungalows for sale in Guelph. These homes stretch all the way to Victoria Rd.
If you’re considering buying a house as a first time buyer, this part of St Georges Park is still relatively affordable.
